Craigslist Scams, now involving the US Military

So I have been looking for a truck. As a natural result I turned to Craigslist to look. Be warned, there are TONS of scammers on Craigslist. Out of 7 trucks I have tried to make contact on 3 have been flat out scams (and the only ones to contact me back). How can you spot a scam? Some are Easy. These two trucks had the same response almost word for word.

I'm an US Air Force Staff Sergeant currently stationed in the United Kingdom. The truck is here with me. It was bought in the US and shipped to Europe, but it was never permanently registered here, the truck is still registered in the US. The truck is for sale locally as well, but there are slim chances of this to happen. In order to be able to register this truck here in the UK the buyer would have to pay very high import/custom taxes that will double the price. So I decided to sell the truck back in the US. The price is $4,990.00 US Dollars including shipping from the UK to the US and delivery to your home address. I am selling the truck for personal reasons. So if you decide to buy this truck or need further information please get back to me as soon as possible.

The number 1 rule when buying a car is NEVER EVER accepted shipping. Unless its your own family don't do it because you will likely never see it when dealing with a private party.

Another thing to watch out for, is car listings on Craigslist that are 100% graphics. If they have no text ask yourself why they would want to hide the text of an ad from the search engine. Normally you would want as many possible search hits as you can get.

Whats truly sad is the rat bastards are pretending to be US Servicemen.
